Heyyyyy!!!!

My goshhhh.... Average Nigerian Girl has missed you!!!

What's goooood? I hope y'all are quarantining and stuff cos likeee... I am not ready to lose any one of you to that wicked bitchass mofo named RONA

 LOL

Okay guys let's get down to the business of the day! I'm super-duper excited about this post because I'm not gonna be in this alone. This is the very first time I'm introducing the INTERVIEWS into 'our' blog because of course, I looooove...

So much loooveee

To hear your voices too.

I'm not an advocate of the BANK SYSTEM if you know what I mean though! So! The topic of the weekend is gonna be

SOCIAL CLIMBERS

How's that?

I know many of you may be very familiar already with the issue of social climbing and of course your thoughts are all gonna be reflected in the course of the discussion.

So this particular topic is coming in two parts: the first being the interview section and the other being the main FEED (Yeah very edible for the soul)

We will be hosting a couple amazing personalities for this interview section. So since they're of opposite sexes, we'll take the queen first because you know...
Ladies first!

PS: this is gonna be a slightly lengthy post ugh! Sorry...😘

Also note that all uneccessary parts of the following interview has been cut out, to avoid trivialities and to ensure conciseness

We moveee!

             MBAH LILIAN J. O.

Mbah Lilian Joanna Ogochukwu is a recent graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where she studied Theatre and film studies. She resides in the Eastern area of Enugu State, Nigeria. She's a fun-filled personality who is deeply interested in the societal affairs of her nation. She's very active on social media, passionate about acting and makeup artistry and has a special knack for the entertainment industry as a whole.

Let's welcome her

(Imaginary applause😆)

Cutting to the chase!

Average Nigerian Girl: Pls introduce yourself
Lilian: My name is lilian Joanna Ogo Mbah.

A:Where do you live?
L: I live in Enugu state, Nigeria.

A: How frequently do you use social media platforms?
L: I use social media most frequently.

A: What do you think about social media and it's pressures on youths?
L: Social media is an interesting way of curing idleness, it has changed lives for people in good and bad ways. Social media is a great means a publicity and awareness.
Now we have 98% of social media consumers say they're influencers. But in what way are they actually influencing people? Are they really influencing them for the good or bad? If they use their patform well,It could impact positively on people. But they're occupying peoples minds to only be perfect. Cause no one shows off their struggles but the best life..it's a literal hashtag #liveyourbestlife# every young girl wants to look like the perfect rich girl on social media. "I wanna fix my body, i want to go to Dubai"
Don't get this wrong. It's a great thing to want to go to Dubai. But what are you doing right now to be able to go there? Truth is "nothing" alot of people who call themselves influencers that have never even really partnered or modeled for any actual brand. They Just make people see life like there's no imperfections.

Girls now go through severe pain that can cause them their lives to have the perfect body. And most of them can't even afford good surgeons. I hope young girls remember that, that celebrities that went through perfect surgeries  could afford the best surgeons and can still afford to fix any mistakes!  Yet no one is perfact! You could still have complications!
I want girls to know that the girl in the magazine does not look like the girl in the magazine in real life!
A lot of people use social media in the good and benefiting ways. People make millions of it daily. But best believe, it doesn't take split seconds to get there, its growth and time. But rather of, people wants to be liked by 1 million people than be loved by real people. Instagram is not love.
I would say turn social media off. Its really hard for young people. They're addicted. We all want to be liked but now want to be like by millions of people you don't even know and some of us will do anything to be liked. Turning it off would be a natural diagnose of social media addiction..

A: Do you know who social climbers are?
L: Social climbers are people who are eager to elevate their place in the society. Prolly want to be treated with respect and by that, they tend to want be friends to people in their visioned social status.

A: Define a social climber in your own words
L: To me when you see a social climber. You know them, they don't fit in right or complete there's always a dot of difference. There are signs of low self-esteem. Despite their talkative-social behaviour, they still suffer from inferiority complex when they're with the higher class.
E.g when a social climber is with her normal friends, she pours out her thoughts comfortably, without fear of judgement. But when he or she is with the higher class,he or she can't speak without wondering if they're  saying the right or wrong thing even when they're right! A social climber agrees to eveything said by the higher class even when they're wrong, you fear to correct them because they might not call you ever again.A social climber always welcomes to friends and is ready to let go of good day one friends. They never believe in themseleves, thus they need a higher person existence to boost their self-esteem.

A: Is social climbing bad or good?
L: Social climbing comes with a reason. If you need it career wise or for business, It's good cause you need people in the higher class to help elevate your brand or company or your career. You need to meet new people and mostly  you need influential people to boost your career.
But when you become a social climber for just fame and just to fit into the upper class (because most of them don't believe that they're social climbers) you'll get addicted and you'll get lost. And you'll end up with people who don't love you.
,
A: Ever had a personal experience with a social climber? If yes, please share
L: Yes, a agirl i know is trying to hard to be friends with a rich kid who doesn't give a tiny shit about her. In the name of "you don't know who will be your help in the future"  sometimes we forget to use common sense. "Person way no send you no send you".She keeps posting the girl, followed her on ig, and is even trying to be friends with her family. But guess what? the girl didn't follow her back nor even liked her pictures atleast.
The rich kid does not reply her until she feels like. And I keep wondering to myself "how the hell can a person be this dumb" she's still trying hard to fit in. Which is embarrassing. She most times try to talk the rich girl into inviting her to any party she's going for cause she would meet rich people, But has never been invited.
You know when you call someone your friend, But the person introduces you as a classmate.

A: Do you have a role model? If yes, who? If no, why?
L: I have alot of people i look up to in my career. People like Octavia Spencer and saoirse ronan.
But really,i want to be like my visioned self when i grow older Not anybody. But these people really inspire me to do better.

A: If you had an opportunity to meet with him/her how would you prepare and what would be your mode of approach?
L: I believe i would soon. And I'll be honoured to work with them. I'd prepare like I'm going to see my mother i haven't seen in a long time. Lol.

A: What do you have to say to social climbers out there
L: I would say. Know yourself and love yourself, cause at the end of the day it's you and yourself,no one would be there when your suffer for your wrong decisions. Know your purpose too, it helps one to know what they need than what they want.
